I see them a few times a year in Michigan. They are more common these days.

Captive animals, I've seen countless exotic animals. Wild animals are a cooler experience.
A wild black bear in the northern Lower Peninsula.
A loggerhead sea turtle in Calibogue Sound.
A baby Atlantic bottle nose dolphin riding waves at a beach in South Carolina.
I saw a group of 25k redhead ducks together floating on Lake St. Clair in 2022.
Not rare animals, but the sight was. I saw a bull shark eat a sea gull that was floating on the water.
I also saw a dead alligator that was bloating up from rot get stuck on the bow of a boat on the Savannah river. A guy tried to kick it off and his foot went through it and it was the most putrid thing I've ever seen.

Friday night beer league hockey. Saturday - morning hike in the woods, mow the lawn one last time, winterize the pool filter, find the hole that the mice are getting into the kitchen through, cut the vinyl and apply the letters to the jacket I'm making. Sunday - taking the kids to the homecoming parade.
Midwestern Dad shit.

I used to have that. I found a cure though. The cure for me was meditation and exercising my brain's ability to have thoughts and not let them reel on anymore. I was depressed and had suicidal thoughts even though my life is going really well. I know it's not for everyone, but Buddhism and meditation changed my life.

Republicans: Let's defund public schools so that everyone is stupid enough to believe what we say. Then we will tell them vaccines are harmful so they die and we lose voters. Oh, shit...

Do you know any sea shanties to go along with that?

I'll just pirate their shit. I'll pirate it so hard and I'll do it with both middle fingers in the air. But not literally, I would definitely need both hands to pirate their content.

Agreed. What else can they opt out of based on religion at that point? They could claim they don't help Muslims due to religious beliefs. They could claim they won't help women who don't listen to their husbands.

"Should we force catholic hospitals to do abortions?"
No. Because there shouldn't be catholic hospitals.

Self-defense, non-violence are clearly not the same thing as pacifism. I can agree to that. But then the view of victim can be awfully grey. And thank you for not being rude and trying to understand without judgement.

https://lemmy.world/c/truthabouttimwalz Tim Walz once told his friend that her chili was "the best he's ever had", when in fact he had better at a different event years earlier. LIAR!
I'm a guitarist/singer and I'm looking to record some acoustic stuff. I have a condenser mic, but I would need an audio interface. I'm not looking for a fancy setup, just bare bones really. Any recommendations for an open source audio workshop? What's my cheapest quality option for an audio interface? Thanks!
I took a picture of this dude with my CampSnap camera in Detroit.
I keep seeing videos lately of grown men posing as children online and baiting individuals to public spaces and either assaulting them or recording/exposing them for content. While I don't mind the idea of a predator being outed, the idea of grown adults posing as children online seems unsavory to me. Especially if their end goal isn't to protect children, and is to provide content for views. Obviously, being a child predator is wildly immoral and illegal and their actions are not what's being debated.
