I did finish this 3000-piece puzzle in May. I bought it used so I was amazed that it still had all the pieces. It took a couple months.

I did think of that, so when I told the manager the story, I just said the cashier helped my kid sort everything out to make it work within their budget. I didn't mention any discounts or coupons.

My husband's grandmother has been having this conversation with me for almost twenty years. I did not grow up in that town, I did not grow up in that state, and even after we got married, we never lived close by. But she has never lived anywhere else, and I don't think she can imagine a world where everyone she knows doesn't know everyone else she knows. I've just learned to quickly accept that of course I remember "Sue from Suwannee Street".

The only one I remember for sure is nice. My kid was about 8yo and decided they wanted to go shopping for our Christmas gifts by themselves. So we went to Target and my husband and I gave them some cash and instructions about not spending it all to allow for taxes. We parked ourselves at the front of the store so we saw them checking out and we could see there was some kind of issue, but it got resolved. After we got home, our kid explained that they did indeed spend every bit of the money we gave them, forgetting about taxes, but the cashier "found" a coupon so they didn't have to put anything back.

Later that evening, I called the Target and asked to speak a manager. I explained what happened and I said I was sorry that I didn't know the name of the cashier but I described them and their checkout lane, and wanted to send them my praise and thanks. It would've been so easy to just make a kid put something back or get their parents, but this lady was very kind and patient, and it really made my kid's day. (My kid was very proud of themselves for buying their parents' gifts all by themselves for the first time.) The manager was so relieved and said she was very grateful to get this kind of call because at that time of year they don't always hear a lot of positive feedback.

Thank you. I taught high school for several years, so I try to think of subbing as just getting the fun parts of teaching without a lot of the BS. (In saying that,I know that the school district I currently work in doesn't have a lot of severe behavioral issues that other schools have.)

I'm a substitute teacher, and definitely not technical but my husband is, and he introduced me to Reddit many years ago. It was fun but I only ever used it on the RIF app. When I saw what was happening last month, I read a thread that suggested Lemmy as an alternative so here I am.

I have wondered if my chest to shoulder ratio is different from the standard because my straps never stay up no matter the bra or how much I adjust them. It's always been this way.

  • What are the age ranges for various generic age descriptors, eg, "ancient" "elderly" "old" "young"?
  • BakingCookies BakingCookies Now 100%

Yup. I substitute teach at a middle school and a couple years ago, I heard a 12yo say 40 would be a good age to die because you'd pretty much done everything you could by then... I'd just turned 40 a few weeks earlier.

I like embroidery, baking and cooking, exercising, and jigsaw puzzles. I just started my biggest one ever -- 5000 pieces. It takes up about half of our living room floor, but we don't have a table big enough.

My husband and I play Scrabble together, and have for the past 19 years. I even made our wedding cake topper to be two people playing Scrabble. We also have a notebook that keeps up with our scores, and unfortunately it notes that I've been on a losing streak lately!

As a family, with our 14yo, they like to go birding (it's not my thing), or we play cards or board games.

I enjoy it, but I only learned to eat it about a year ago. It took me such a long time because it looks so unappetizing. Now I love it with savory flavors. I especially like it as a replacement for salad dressing -- I'm getting extra protein with some added flavor. And my current favorite snack is cottage cheese with cucumbers, red onions and everything bagel seasoning.

I'm in the middle of a brain-candy cozy mystery "The Diva Cooks a Goose", which is okay. I'm also reading nonfiction "Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth I". My teen and I are going to see the musical "Six" soon and I've been trying to learn a bit about the queens beforehand. I do like this one so far.
