Full spectrum Sony NEX 5N w/ Viltrox 13mm 1.4 w/ r76
I lost my Canon EOS M50 II. Basically my whole camera gear just spin off from a 3km tall mountain in Austria because I forgot to close my bag. I know... After a month of mourning, I started to look again to the market, but It's hard to swallow. Prices are manually kept high. Affiliate links everywhere. Old gear is not cheaper. An average smartphone can record 4k video with in-body stabilization, but if you want it in a camera then the body will cost you a fortune. Lenses are not compatible with every body, technology exists for good lenses but they keep producing trash. And I have to buy the trash because of my price range. Moreover, firmwares are proprietary. Smartphone sync apps are limited and proprietary (As a developer it's quite annoying, that they don't even let me fix their issues.) The raw format is only very rarely DNG but mostly proprietary. I could list the injustices in the world we live in all they long. But, I miss the image quality, and I need another one. What do you think, which brand is the least like above? What do you suggest for traveling? (The photo has been made with my phone shortly after losing my camera, sitting there sadly, but somehow the land is so quite and calming.)
First, please let me apologize for my lack of proper vocabulary. 😃 I have a Canon EOS R50 with the stock 18 to 45 lens. I need a stronger telephoto capability, to take bird pictures, the moon, get that lone oak tree out in a field etc. There are devices that one can place between the lens and the body to <<telephoto more>>, right? Would it be better to get one of these or to buy another whole lens? I am assuming the adapter would be less expensive. Money is a factor. (isn't it always?)
I plant to buy a camera set, consisting of the lens and the camera body itself. But, I don't just want to ask > I have a budget of ~1000 bucks, I want something that is light sensitive, has modern software, is preferably not Sony, and has a low minimum focus distance. It can be, especially the lens, a few years old, since I prefer to buy it used. I want you to help me by letting me help myself. Is there some sort of website, that asks me simple questions on my preferences, budget and use cases, and then suggests me a few combinations of cameras? Right now, I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the choices, and I don't want to buy something that is incompatible or just not what I wanted...

It seems like there's a problem with sharpness, but im not sure if its because i lack a star tracker, the lens was slightly out of focus, or because of atmospheric wobble. Here's some behind the scene images:  The camera is a nikon D5100, a low/midrange camera from almost 14 yeas ago mounted to a cheap tripod. The white box on top of said camera is the battery which i made from 2 old powerbanks because im a cheapass and couldnt be asked to buy a proper one :) I saw the nothern lights too! 
Hi guys! I'm just a newbie in a way, that some years ago inherited a Nikon DX D7100 with a rather good Nikkor zoom 18-200mm VR (I understand it's the first one, as they might have re-released it at later stages). I played with it for quite a while and took some really good pictures, but at this point it's rather cumbersome to pack in the luggage, together with the drone as well. I'm considering a smaller mirrorless camera perhaps, so I can have something easier to carry around during a hike/tour/scooter ride. However, I would like to keep the portability with the zoom to some degree, as I really love how easily it made to frame subjects and get really good pics. Would you guys have recommendations for cameras (Nikon or not-Nikon), that can fit a Nikon lens with/without some adapter? Just in case this is a DX lens, not full frame, AFAIK (but I wouldn't mind some...vignetting, or digitally/automatically cropping the picture after the fact, if needed).

Shot with a 18-55mm lens on a Fujifilm X-Pro 1. Edited and converted RAW in camera, then slightly adjusted the Jpeg in Darkroom.

I highly recommend listening to these two talking about photography and stuff in general. I'm not a big podcast person but there's something special about this one, IMO.

I am looking for a new backpack for every day carry where I always want my camera gear with me (a DSLR, a filter and a couple of extra lenses). I like: * The simplicity * The design * The large main compartment * Being able to simply add or remove all camera gear by adding or removing the camera insert I don't like: * No water bottle holder * No quick access to camera * To few images showcasing the insert in the bag Do any of you have this setup? Do you like it? Would you recommend something else?
