Migrated my self-hosted Nextcloud to AIO and I absolutely love it
  • rambos rambos Now 100%

One of the first services on my server was nextcloud in docker container from lsio. Never had problems so there was no need to try AIO, but so many people recommend that, it will be my next setup if this one fails me

Correct and sounds like the best of both worlds

    I'll grab a kitchen sponge

You can just cut 30x30 mm peace and zip-tie it over filament 😉

Enclosure will protect printer from dust and it will also keep the ambient temperature more stable. Dont make it hermetic sealed, better add few holes on the front and few on the back for example. I have a low rpm fan with dust filter because I mostly print PLA and in long prints (12h+) temperature can go a bit too high if there is no airflow at all. Keep in mind that enclosure should be removed sometimes for mintainance, removable sides is what you should look for.

You can leave filament on the printer, but if you dont use it for a long time it could get wet and then you have to dry it. Keep the rest of the spools in plastic sealed box or bag and put some silica gel inside.

Full calibration should be done once, but fine tuning when you face some issues or when you change to different brand or filament type. It depends how well the printer is assembled and how experienced you are, it can take only 5 min every few months, but begginers can spend days sometimes.

Extra tips: clean your rails and wheels whenever you can (once a month at least) for dusty garage. Get a kitchen sponge, drill a hole in it and guide filament trough the hole to remove any dust before extruder.

Welcome to the most fun hoby and happy printing!

For 9 disks I would need to print a bigger case, but this one suits me well for now 😉

  • rambos rambos Now 100%

Daily backup to backblaze b2 and also to local storage with kopia. Its been running for a year I think, no issues at all. I didnt need a real backup yet, just did some restore tests so far

    Adding my data as well:

My server is diy desktop pc - mbo MSI Z270-A PRO with celeron G3930 and 16GB RAM, 3x SSD on 550W PSU, idles at 23W. After adding another 3.5" HDD consuption went up to 34W. 34W in Ctoatia is around 34€ a year.

Some SFF PCs are at 10-15W. SBCs like rpi should be below 10 W, but dont think you can get anything new for 80€

  • rambos rambos Now 100%

-4c is extreemly cold, get thermometer inside of enclosure and leave your heatbed on until it reaches 10-15C before you start printing. Even better get enclosure heater. Id also bump nozzle temp to the highest marked on your spool.

Interesting. This is new to me and it looks like it could work. It could be usefull if you print with 0.6 nozzle at 0.6 mm width and then in a corner narrow it down to 0.4 mm

Im not afraid of command line, but also dont feel like linux guy yet. The thing is that installing and using some distros are way easier than windows. I installed POP OS recently and cant believe how smooth and easy it was. Average windows users might not need command line at all on distro like that

Casual users dont get on private trackers hehe. Joking, some guys were posting site that tracks when private trackers have open invites, hope someone will link again. Some trackers are almost impossible to join or keep up with their rules, but like torrentleech should be easy enough. Ive never used usenet since Im on private trackers for years, but I bet someone can recommend one here.

You can look for older redit posts about recommendation for both, but first decide what contet you are aiming for. Some trackers are just for movies, some are focused on music, but there are also general purpose trackers like torrentleech.

  • Considerations for a homeserver thats open to the internet? (Jellyfin / Nextcloud)
  • rambos rambos Now 100%

I went for wireguard VPN instead of exposing services. Its much more safe afaik, but you have to configure each device you want to give access (aka scanning QR code). You also dont need to buy a domain for that. Exposed services would be easier to use, especially if you want to use it on many devices

Private trackers I seed until Im running out of storage, public ones up to 1.2 ratio.

I used to upload some content, but dont have anything thats not already available anymore.

I did some donations to our fellow pirates tho

Better then pay for usenet instead of VPN. Not sure is 0% enough to protect yourself

Have you considered shimming your bed? Keep in mind that also X/Y rods (frame in your case) might be a reason for that. Flipping (rotating) rods might get you closer to a solution. Inspect each axis and plate individually (with light behind the ruller for example). Not the answer that you were looking for, but Id always try to fix the hardware first. BL touch is doing nothing, but only correcting hardware issues. Not needed if you fix them 😜 It will be easier with ABL on better tuned printer. Also you might find that you dont need one (hopefully)

Try another tracker like 1337x or even better try to get in some private trackers. Alternatively get usenet (paid service)

  • [Solved - I was blind. I had to enable local access and disable DNS Switch mode in Eddie] I wanted to edit main post, but fatfingered delete button.... Solved in meantime, but reposting just because of that, sorry about that... I couldn't access local services running on home server (not exposed) while VPN connection is active (Eddie). Fellow selfhoster told me to check if I have enabled local network, then I also found settings where I had to disable DNS Switch mode which is solution! Thank you

Hey guys, I have some services running on home server (not exposed) and I also have AirVPN subscription. I'm trying to use AirVPN (for browsing) on my PC running POP OS with their app called Eddie, but once I connect to VPN server I cant reach my local services using custom DNS records. So I have to type http://IP:PORT or disable VPN to access it. I have pihole with custom DNS Records that points to NPM on the same host. I understand that VPN cant resolve my local DNS, but is there any solution to use both at the same time? Edit: I do have static local IP set with custom DNS (server IP)

Title sounds confusing and It might be wrong terminology, sorry about that. I have POP OS and windows in VM (virtualbox) for few apps that are not available on linux. Im trying to install one app that requires diferent activation method because it recognized Im running virtual machine. Is there any way to hide that so I can activate the app the way I usually do on non-VM windows? I hope I was clear enough, cheers Edit: typo

I have default windows defender, but didnt even know its antivirus lol. Is there any antivirus installed by default on any popular linux distro? What do you use? I feel like antivirus can just annoy me when trying to crack something, but maybe defender protects me and im not aware.

Hey guys, I'm using Home Assistant to set alarms on my phone and its working fine. I can set alarm time with a message using this string in my yaml file: `"android.intent.extra.alarm.HOUR:{{8}},android.intent.extra.alarm.MINUTES:{{15}},android.intent.extra.alarm.SKIP_UI:true,android.intent.extra.alarm.MESSAGE:Take Medication"` Now I'd like to add a daily repeat or for example repeat every Wednesday. From the same source I found it should be possible using EXTRA_DAYS. I couldn't find any example so I was trying every combination that came to my mind like: ``` android.intent.extra.alarm.DAYS:{{Calendar.SATURDAY, Calendar.WEDNESDAY}} android.intent.extra.alarm.DAYS:{{ [Calendar.SATURDAY, Calendar.WEDNESDAY] }} android.intent.extra.alarm.DAYS:[Calendar.SATURDAY, Calendar.WEDNESDAY] etc. ``` How to shape that android.intent.extra.alarm.DAYS properly? Documentation says the values should be `ArrayList<Integer>`: [Documentation is on this link](https://developer.android.com/reference/android/provider/AlarmClock#EXTRA_DAYS)

Hello lemings and old redditors! I have counter for each of medication that gets decrement with automations once or twice a day at specific time. That works fine, but now I'd like to see for how many days I have pills left before I have to resupply. For example I take 2 pills of decortin per day and since there are 8 in counter I have enough for next 4 days and that will be on 21.06.2023. But I take 4 pills of envarsus per day and that means I have to resupply in 7 days since there are only 29 pills left. So basically I want a Card on my dashboard with 2 additional columns, how can I do that?
