I used to work for the Alberta Heritage Digitization Project, in the mid 2000's. We were scanning all the newspapers on microfiche from the late 1800s to like 2000 i think. A quick search looks like Calgary public has access, if not we were based at the u of c. They probably have it hosted somewhere.

For me it was how ludicrously cheap it is. I boug a razor for 40$ cdn and ordered a box of blades for 30$, this was more than a decade ago. Im almost done the box.

I'm feeling intemperate and all i was going to do was try starting my own lemmy instance, and buy some nice rum. Dude at work had his mortgage payment bounce.
I alrady have... stong feelings about banks generally, and this sure isn't helping.
Any body else livid that they haven't gotten payday because TD screwed the pooch on direct deposits? If this was the end of the month I might have become ... intemperate. Edit-spelling

If only the mods had control, you know of the tools used to make the system work. Call it worker controll of the means of production maybe.
This here is more commie in the tradtitional pre bolshevik sense "the free and equal association of producers."

I'm loving it so far. People seem realy exited to build.
Even if most of my fellow reddit refugees fade out, i think we'll still have enough to maintain. I think like the Mastodon growth curve.
- Most important: sophie good (due to proximity to anderson) - Also: the fash bad. - Incidentally: Dont be an jackass - Other rules, if we have to, I guess. But seiously super excided to see this here. My first couple days on lemmy seemed a bit sparse. Everyone seems to be finding their feet, and theres no fire hose but there's always fresh stuff on the feed. Edit - spelling

There always the defederation option. There was no exodus from mastodon when fashy-twitter (gab) started using a fork as their backend. Everyone just blocked them. At least thats my understanding.
