Thanks for increasing it. I went on a burst posting spree this morning and didn't have any problems. It seems that 10/hr is about the magic number for me as far as being able to read multiple articles, and decide that I actually want to put one up.

I’m not at home at the moment but when I get back I can give you a full list of the block lists I’m using.

I threw it on my pihole as well, Went from 80k blocked domains to 1.4 mil. I may have to use one of the less strict block lists, but we’ll see how it goes first.

It’s legitimately a hard issue to deal with. If I could trust that the information gathered via these devices wouldn’t be used maliciously it would be a great benefit to reducing the deaths due to covid. The problem is that we all know that you cannot trust the people gathering info like this...

I understand. I did like the idea of 5/community/hr. That does feel a little more scalable. Or having an increased amount of posting, but limiting if your recent posts start going negative. I don’t necessarily want to have things changed simply because it suits me. But I did think it was a good discussion to have.

So far I think the comments are looking pretty good. For more inspiration you can look at Apollo on iOS. It’s a fantastic reddit client. Honestly, the current comment structure is pretty close already.

I completely agree that any system in place should be automatic. Having individuals involved does lead to some issues, worst of all being favoritism or mild corruption (the introduction of some kind of inner circle).

I do like the idea of linking posting limit to a negative posting value. It would allow users the power to be able to limit someone who is posting bad or inflammatory content. Though that does lead to a potential for “brigading”, users intentionally going through and downvoting content they disagree with (even if it abides by site/community rules), in order to silence an individual. But, as long as the ability to post isn’t completely removed without human intervention it could work.

I appreciate your efforts on this. I’ve “de-googled” most of my life, but the websites/applications that use reCAPTCHA drive me crazy. I’ll see about opening a ticket for ProtonMail if someone hasn’t done so already.

Sweet. Like I said, it works for my iPhone and MacBook safari, but for whatever reason the iPad safari doesn’t. Leave it to Apple to not have a congruent safari codebase for all the hardware lol.
