Hit the mark on all 3. 🤷♂️ But in fairness the early days of Reddit was pretty similar.
Phase 1: Collect enthusiasts
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: Profit
Reddit has tried lots of things in Phase 2, including borrowing many techniques from Facebook, but they're still fundamentally there.

Pretty hopeful. I'm in the process of setting up a server to try and host a few communities. Should get it online by the end of the month. I figure if as many people as possible just host a few communities (i.e. cherished Reddit subs that aren't here yet) then we can save the major instances the pain of trying to host everything for everyone and take real advantage of building a truly robust decentralised network

Android user here.
Connect for Lemmy is my go to at the moment. Feels the most refined. I'm also trialling Liftoff in parallel but keep coming back to Connect.
That said I expect to trial a few for a few months before finally landing. Watching the Sync for Lemmy situation closely, was previously an Infinity for Reddit user, there's also a fork of Infinity using the Everything API proxy but it's still early days to consider that as a daily driver.
All that rambling short: right now Connect is the one I'm sticking with. If Infinity becomes a viable option I'll likely move there. Watching the other options too to see where they land
