Donald Trump is like the Biff Tannen of the future. You know the one - where Hill Valley is in tatters and he's abusing women in a penthouse somewhere

Religion is a control mechanism. It helps people feel better about things they can't control, mysterious ways and all that, but it is always about control and power. Ea is gonna get you, be scared

Good things: you get someone to spend time with. Frequent sex. Someone to share your world with.b you tell your secrets, you trust them
Bad things: they have their own needs, even when it isn't convenient for you. You have to accept that you're a partnership, and their judgement is important. You trust them, whether or not they deserve it. You are open and vulnerable, which means you're vulnerable. Sex can be mechanical and unfulfilling. Your growth needs to include them

Same question - why aren't businesses responsible for maintaining enough security, with damages due for those whose information they misplace.
Was it a stupid question?

Yep this. They are afraid that their way of life is being threatened... Just like the other fanatics There are religious fanatics, sporta fanatics, Independent fanatics prepping for the aliens to come and kill them, etc. Mobs are dangerous no matter the flag they wave.
So I got a notice from Ticketmaster that my identity was accessed by an intruder and my name, contact info and /encrypted/ payment info was compromised. These notices are more and more common. Why aren't companies accountable for damages when they fail to protect all the myriad data they collect on people without consent? I never asked them to store these things..

All those bombs and planes and tanks and drones and machinery of death emit CO2 - also the burning rubble and bodies
Look around, we're killing ourselves at every possible opportunity

Practice good hygiene and it'll be fine The trouble is that modern apps are forced to adopt features which depend on the new OS. Your old one will be incompatible, on purpose
The security aspect is secondary to the monetary growth and recuperation of investment in the new OS.
They spent all those monies to make it "AI" betting that you will eat it up and pay up. Now there will be significant pressure for them to "increase adoption" or someone gets fired

I remember it being pretty incredible that there were other users out there I could talk to. I had heard about email and I got an address! I didn't know anyone to email, but I had an address! Chat was amazing. BBS systems offered text games, like LORD - which also took things to a new level. Participation in discussion forums on BBSes and AOL led me to forums on the Web. At school we used to use gopher but the www was more fun (if you could see past the construction sign graphics) and you could always see the hit counters and guestbook links on most pages. Then the construction signs got more sophisticated and animated😀 The early-mid-90s Internet was glorious. Google showed up after Yahoo was too littered with ads.. Some guys in college made a search engine that prioritized speed - dreadfully important at analog speeds..
New radio station is pretty sweet! I've find myself humming a bunch of this retro synth stuff to myself everywhere I go

Edit: the exploit doesn't require the TV, it's just a novel way to do it

This is annoying, where I am, I can usually just smile and walk past them. They want to check my receipt, but I don't
What's become especially irritating is that so many items are locked behind glass. Want some knee pads so your kid can go skateboarding? Please get an associate. Want a new inner tube to get a bike up and running? Please page someone for help. Then, when you finally get the inner tube, the guy has to physically walk it to the self checkout area, put it into a cabinet and then I have to walk around to the front of the self checkout, ask the girl there to go get it and then I ring it up myself? What the hell is going on with inner tubes!?
Could Biden order Trump's execution and win the next election?

I am beginning the process of divorce. There was no history of anything bad, just general lack of compatibility. We've been together 13 years, and at least the past 3-4 we've been shells of who we were. Though we both care deeply, we both know we want to be loved differently. Right now I'm still going between the depression/despair and some irrational nostalgic notion that maybe things could be the way I thought they were (in my mind I know that these are rose tinted memories) How do former couples get along usually? I'm a child of divorce, where my Mom moved two states away and I went with her. My parents were cordial, I think. My ex thinks that we should remain friends, but I think that will make the grieving process harder for me. I wonder if this desire to remain friends is a way for her to not fully have to let go. But if you want the milk, you buy the cow. Should I be wary, or should I be grateful here? How do I protect myself from catching feelings some days and dragging my healing for to long

He said to Neo that humans are like a virus, breeding and infecting the world with our "stick" and general disgustingness. I look around the world, at the state of society, the environment, international conflict and the enshitification of humanity - I've gone through my life blindly accepting that life for life's sake is beautiful, and worth it. But as I see the state of it all, our perpetual need to destroy each other over ideas and resources, I struggle to come to grips with it. Societies around the world are facing population shrinkage... Do they all know something I don't? Is human life beautiful, and objectively worth perpetuating? Or are we a blight? Why should we be?
