What is a phobia of spots?
like if there are too many spots on thing, it freaks me out. The phobia itself has a name but i never remember it
Why are you terrified of them
idk, just something i had for a while now
How is that relevant to rain?
its not , just want to add it as its also feels overstimulating
wait, aren't you on Lemmy Autism, shouldn't you know this staff

Jacky shan being the biggest for me, found almost all episodes and binged in a few days. I realized the show is actually very formulaic. Bad guys want to collect a number of artifacts, the good guys tries to collect them all before the bad guys and succeeded but then the bad guys get all the artifacts in the end and the good guys have to stop them. This was plot for season 1,3,4,5,6 and with 2 having the most episode but are all filler. I also watche 50 Code Lyoko but got bored, there almost 100 episodes Obviously those shows weren't meant to be binged but even then they are repetitive, however with jacky shan i have nostalgia and its still special to me

Rain for me is just overstimulating, also have phobia of spots. There is a Nestle nescaffe called cramla that just the texture of it when you pour the water making thousands of tiny bubbles causes me extreme nausea and i feel like i am about to vomit

God i never thought i would make it to 18, let alone 22. i was a pessimistic kid even before leaving Islam and always expected the worst to happen. I feel like i got better since i stopped treating every possibility as a 50/50 chace even if i didn't know the actually probability

yea thats my fault, given the subject at hand. Ironically, i wanted to write more but got crambs so i had to stop. The take away here, is that its a complicated issue and to go easy on yourself, we are all in this together.
One more thing, actually two. Another contributing factor can be ADHD too, maybe thats something you would wanna look into, which lets to my other point, I have ADHD and MDD(Maladaptive daydreaming disorder, which insnt yet official). Iam not officially diagnosed with either due to financial reasons, the state of psychology in my country and other stuff. But i have know for a few years now and mostly made peace with it.
I am never gonna drive a car, noone in life acceptance this or doesn't take me seriously, but i made my decision. I am a danger to myself and other. I daydream in the bus, alot of the times in the middle of walking in a rood, thankfully nothing happened but i take precautions now and one of them is not driving
I am not saying you should give up driving if you want to drive, but to set boundaries for yourself and others, for example when going on an important trip even if its 10 min bus, i will take a taxi its less stressful for me, having to try to keep my attention on the stops. Little stuff like that can help

To begin with, its a complicated abd controversial problem
The biggest factor being overlooked with this is distraction. Mostly electronics but also real life.
At any given point in the day, in where in country, you will likely see ads, be that posters or gaint screens or branded cars or building, shop names which functions more or less like ads. There is also traffic, especially the noise plus crowds. There ppl trying to sell you stuff or ppl shouting.fireworks, Loud ear bleeding muisc both from cars and shops or just in the middle of the street. You get the idea
For phones and such, they are design to be addicting. The notification are the obvious, but also the nice colors, smoothness of it all. The fact you would need it for daily life, shopping, calls, texting, maps. The fact that they now function as a 6th limb. How most apps are designed for endless scrolling. You could also agonize over the perfect productivity or perfect app for anything and spend hours then days on trying diffrent apps, most of the time in the different rotation of the same apps.
Stress from daily life can be a cause but most often than not its boredom. Taking your phone out and using it is both convenient and very accessible, so it becomes second nature. Doom scrolling can also play a part. everyone else using them all the time, also has an effect
pedaling back, firstly, experts criticize the idea of an average attention span. Different activities require or incentives different levels of attentio. Works will differ from say watching a 3 hour video or doing chores or watching a movie. Secondary, there are any actually evidence on account of their being no studies on it, probably due the mentioned variables.
Ultimately, i can't suggest what to do for your phones out of -Get a dumb phone for when your out of the house -Turn off notifications for unnecessary apps -Try grey scale -Minimize the number of apps you use -Join a group irl or online, preferably irl -Do activities -Think about how you are using you phone. There are apps there that asks you for a reason for say opening Twitter that you wite then. Reducing time spent is also another way
those are based on assumptions about you on my part. Maybe you pay using you phone or have to use it at work. i dont know
But i think that a better narrative is that the world around you is working against your Attention. There are literally course in marketing called hijacking attention spans. Its best not to beat yourself up and its not only you experiencing this.
P.S: i got a lot of my points from this video, especially the one about companies working against our attention

I want start with python but I don't know what operating system and tools to use. I have a 6 RAM icore3 180 GB hard disk Notebook laptop running Linux mint. I plan to save up to Buy a PC in the future but for I have to make due my old laptop I am also wondering how does the programming market look like in terms of operating system. Does it matter which operating system you use? In terms of programming institutions (universities bootcamps, etc..), do each institutions have its own preference or does it let its student choose?
