Well my comment was not about having control over the software/firmware though that will be cool.
My logic is that well tested, polished software/firmware have very few bugs and hence most of the updates they get are feature additions or improvements to current functionality (examples in an EV could be updates making the BMS more robust, tweaking the regen modes according to feedback from the users, etc). Poorly tested, half baked software/firmware will be full of bugs and broken functionality and will lead to 'updates' where all the changes are correcting broken functionality and serious bugs. This will be an unpleasant experience for the user and we should hold companies accountable when they do shit like this

I would have reported it but I wasn't sure whether it was a local issue or a server issue and didn't want to burden you with an issue without the proper information. Also no worries bugs happen and I have seen no group or organisation react as openly and promptly to bugs as you people do. I hope that sometime in the future, you open donations for uBlue so that people like me who can't code can show our appreciation for this incredible project

Considering that McLaren and arguably even Ferrari/merc, depending on the track, have jumped them on car performance, even Verstappen victories are very unlikely. I don't know how they think perez is finishing anywhere near the podium in the current situation.

I am not using secure boot so I don't think that's the issue
So I saw that the rpm-ostreed-automatic.service was failing so I manually tried to upgrade but when i run `rpm-ostree upgrade`, I am getting an error `Creating importer: Failed to invoke skopeo proxy method OpenImage: remote error: A signature was required, but no signature exists`. Is this some error at my side or is this some key related issue at uBlue's side?

Considering that the sprints are an completely separate event now, these penalties should not be applicable in the sprint. For a team like AT who are very unlikely to finish top 8, it is an easy way avoid any real consequences of the penalty.
Edit : Hell for any team, it is advantageous to take the penalty during the sprint which gives out reduced points and then have the fresh engine penalty free for the actual race where much more points are at stake

For me, VLC doesn't support VRR on gnome(didn't try KDE) so I am using MPV. Even for me, who often struggles with using the terminal, it has been a breeze to use. I even changed the config files to have MPV use hwdec by default and it wasn't difficult. Truly a marvelous project

So rumours of Max's demise and perez's rise were greatly exaggerated. Max messed up the set up in one race and was slower than checo (on a track that is checo's favourite mind you) and people came crawling out of their holes claiming checo is quick and that the car screwed him(which is true but only to an extent) and that the only reason max was quick is because he had an illegal car and shit

I recently made a post about my FreeSync certified monitor not supporting VRR over HDMI. I thought that there was VRR support over HDMI even for versions below 2.1 spec. Am I mistaken in my assumption¿? Has the HDMI forum prevented the implementation of FreeSync in the open source drivers¿? Obligatory fuck the HDMI forum and the HDMI spec.
I have a AMD CPU + AMD dGPU laptop and recently bought a LG FreeSync monitor. I hooked up the monitor to my laptop and got it working mostly fine but I dont get any option to set VRR on my LG monitor. I am on Gnome and have enabled VRR through gsettings. My laptop display shows the option to toggle VRR (and is currently being used with VRR on) but my LG display does not. The Archwiki says that the option to toggle VRR should show up on every supported display. I have verified from the user manual that FreeSync is supported over both HDMI and DP and from the monitors menu, I have verified that FreeSync is enabled. Is this a bug or I am missing something. Hardware and Software - Ryzen 5 5600H with Vega integrated graphics - Radeon RX 5500M - Internal Display of 1080p, 144Hz (I have no idea which panel it is) - LG 24GS60F-B monitor connected over HDMI 2.0 - uBlue main 40 (Fedora Silverblue 40) - GNOME 46.4 - Kernel version 6.10.3 - Mesa 24.1.5 Thanks in advance for the help.

So I have this external 2.5" drive salvaged from an old laptop of mine. I was trying to use it to backup/store data but the transfer to the drive fails repeatedly at the ~290GB mark leading me to believe that maybe there is a bad sector on the drive. I tried to inspect the drive using smartmontools and smartctl but since it is an external drive, i was not allowed to do so. Is there anyway for me to inspect and fix this drive? I am on fedora ublue-main. The HDD is a 1TB seagate drive. Edit : I am a linux noob so some hand holding will be appreciated. Also i am looking to use this drive only for low priority media files which i dont mind losing so please help even though it is not the greatest idea to use a failing drive Edit 2 : It seems my post is not clear of what i am doing. I dont want to recover data from the drive. I want to try to use more of the drive for storing data

Since there is no F1TV community, I am posting here. I am trying to watch the pre season test on my phone running but am running into the error in the picture. My phone is running lineageOS 20. Is this a widevine certification issue¿? Is there anyway to resolve this¿? Edit : Further phone details - Motorola G60. F1TV app used to work normally with the stock rom(at least it did last year)
