Baldur Gate 3 is must be what players experience in their heads when they do DnD.

DnD is kind of a cross between improv, telling stories, and a choose-your-own-adventure, from what I gather from my spouse who runs games for a living. Playing Baldurs Gate 3 was really eye opening and I think the game helps one understand the appeal of tabletop RPGs a bit better.

Techniques and products and behaviors that work well on straight hair can be disasterous for curly hair.

The thinning that hairdressers do can sometimes damage the hair and make it more frizzy. Ideally, you want each chunk of group of hair to end at the same length, so they can form a lock. So for example, I let the damaged broken hair grow out, make sure my nutrition is good so I'm growing good hair, and then asked for a couple of simple layers to cut it off and bring all the ends mostly even with each other. No texturing. Long hair is compatible with curls. Don't go for short haircuts.

Silky is achievable. Silky is a goal. Set your sights on silky. It takes technique and skill and time, but is worthwhile to persue. It can be a sign that your health and diet is right.

Pay attention to what breaks the hair (making the ends uneven): aggressive dry brushing, certain uncovered elastic bands that are too tight, etc. These damaging things are forbidden.

Quick instructions for a fast result:

Comb out gently with wide toothed comb when hair is wet and well lubricated with conditioner. Dont towel dry, but gently squeeze out the water with your fist or a twist. Try not to disrupt the grouping of the hair. Allow to dry but not completely, until still damp. Add a product that's meant for curly hair with a bit of hold. (Put an appropriate amount in palm, rub your hands together and run your fingers with product through the hair to spread it out) Twist a chunk around your finger and pull downward/outwards to lock. Not a tedious process, you can do large chunks at a time. Air dry or gentle blow drying with a diffuser attachment if you're in a rush. Or just put it in a t-shirt turban and go to bed.

It's addictive. Soon you'll be buying satin pillowcases. ;)

Edit: holy f'ing shit ignore the f'er that's telling you to clip off your hair entirely. That's the wrong advice. Don't do it man. Your hair is good. It takes years for some people to get it that long.

Your resources are your own and will be required for you to recover and heal and get back on your feet. Any surplus, when it eventually comes, can be reinvested back into yourself for now. Helping yourself is helping others, as a healthy, happy you is an asset to your community.

After so many years of caring, it's tough to sever the connection. A clean break would be best, but is hard to achieve. Strings attached are not in your interest, and favour an ex that want much more than you can (or should) give. Patterns from the past are good to acknowledge.

Your sense of responsibility is a beautiful thing, and will be a treasure in another context and relationship. Right now it probably makes this all incredibly painful.

An emotional support animal has no public access rights under the law. They are not allowed in restaurants and businesses any more than pets are.

Yes, service animals must be safe, and should be trained and expected to perform well, as they have to go into public places as part of their work.

It was just a showerthought, but this platform turned it into an interesting discussion. How amazing.

I have read that it is important to create content for Lemmy, in order to feed it. This has been my first post, I think. Better to get it done than put it off. I am glad people have been able to discuss.

Yes, I think your comment captures my showerthought. It was an excercize in empathy. I do realize that the love for a sacred animal is significantly more profound than the way I feel about my dog. That being said, I do have respect and love for my dear canine companion, which causes an inhibition for eating him.

I too like cows. They make sense to me.

The eating-a-human thing is symbolic. I take it as a reminder to have respect for the sacrifice made by the animals that died to make the food we eat. They support our life and so a level of respect is called for.

People think of Jesus as an avatar, like god playing a computer game on earth. So in that sense Jesus is video game god.

I hate the whole hellfire thing. It seems very manipulative.
