Google consistently routes people to make a right turn across an unsignalised dual carriageway near me. (Australia, we drive on the left).
This right turn is so prone to crashes that every single weekday morning and afternoon there will be multiple tow trucks just waiting for a crash.
To avoid this intersection and turn right on to the dual carriageway at a location with traffic lights is only a matter of driving less than 1km in either direction on a parallel side street. Yet Google tells people to go past the traffic lights to make this turn. Idiocy.

WA Forest Alliance senior campaigner Jason Fowler said the WA government and Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions were lagging and reliant on “outdated and dangerous” policy. “The prescribed burning program is no longer effective at protecting South West communities in a drying and warming climate,” he said. “Only half of prescribed burns close to communities have been completed last year because they are too risky. “Forests are also suffering with an increasing number of high-intensity burns causing severe damage.”

Elizabeth quay is sort of the opposite of south bank in that way. Wanky hotels right up to the water.
Likely a pipe dream at this stage. But having just visited south bank in Brisbane it would be awesome to create something similar here. What I liked about south bank: -big shady trees to sit under Lots of nice places to hang out that don't require you to be a customer open access pool, water playground. Lots of places to eat If Perth tried to do it, we would need to bring in the team who did south bank, and keep away the clowns who made the shadeless concrete wind tunnels like yagan square and Elizabeth quay.

Ironically it was when the stock android upgrade on my pixel 7 completely bricked my phone (due to the multiple user profiles bug) that I decided to jump in to Graphene head first.
Compared to my experience running random ROMs on Samsungs back in the era of galaxy note 1 to 4, Graphene installer was so easy!

Looks like we are finally working towards a fuel efficiency standard. Will be interesting to see what the final details are, especially the year at which manufacturers have to hit zero emissions, and if it's going to be a linear change to get there or otherwise. No doubt legacy parts of the industry will be busy lobbying for their own interests instead of the planet's.

Not sure I agree with the title that no one can ”escape” it. I think the wealth hoarding class does very nicely out of everyone else's misery. Perhaps if things don't turn around their grand children might go from owning the whole country to facing a guillotine. More likely once there is a large enough percentage of people who will have no hope of owning, then they will start to have an effect at the polling booth.

Recently made the switch to Graphene and am trying to get my main email away from outlook.com What's everyone using for calendar event invites? I have a mixture of some events that only I need to see, but others I send and receive invites to people using gmail, outlook etc. Currently trying out free Proton, but it's a bit limited. For example if I make a recurring event there seems to be no way to edit or remove a single recurrence. Also would like to be able to use say simple calendar widgets with it. Edit, also discovered that invites sent from gmail to proton simply don't arrive. Happy for a paid service provided I'm not treated as a product for advertisers to market to.
