I was kinda born into it? My earliest memories are of some Tom Sawyer game on an Apple IIe sitting on my mom's lap while she taught me how to play it. My parents had an intellivision with a good collection of games, the most notable I can remember being Microsurgeon. One of my aunt's had an Atari 2600. She even had E.T. I was born earlier the same year the NES released in the US, and when I was 4, I think, we got one but I had played Nintendo before at other kids' houses. I always loved Balloon Fight. I kinda latched on immediately and never let go.

It doesn't matter the time of day specifically, but it's whenever I've been awake for about 4 or 5 hours. Then I get all of the energy to do things for another 4 or 5 hours before I once again feel like a slug person.
I do like the early morning hours when it's like the whole world is asleep except for me, tho. When it coincides with my random-ass sleep schedule to where that time is in my 4-5 hour window of energy, it's the best time.

I played Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart recently because it was available free on PS+ and it is the most gorgeous game I have ever played in my life.
The graphical capabilities are astounding, the aesthetic is pleasing, and there is charm out the wazoo. You can't look anywhere without seeing something interesting making use of all that fancy graphic tech. I kept it installed despite 100%ing it just to mess around with the photo mode.

I still laugh at the one-liners the PC gives after the boss fights. I fuckin' loved that about the first one. You're a silent protagonist, except during these random awkward moments after defeating a boss and then you just deliver the dumbest puns and jokes unexpectedly.

The first time through the game, up until I got into the Grymforge, everything was pretty normal. But here things start to break majorly and I can't even figure out why or if it's just a random bug that not everyone would experience. I get the quest to kill the duergar from the myconids, find their little camp with the boats, fight then all and return to the myconids. I am then tasked with killing the True Soul Nere at their encampment across the water. At the same time, I have a quest to rescue the Deep Gnomes the duergar are using as slaves. All good. I take the boat across, push the dude who shows up on the trip and kill all the duergar again. We arrive, and it's like nothing happened. I'm talking to everyone pretending to be friends and looking around the place before planning how to fight everything. I haven't left the boat area yet, talking to all I see and everyone keeps saying Nere is trapped and needs rescuing. But then I go up the stairs leaving the docks, go left until I enter a room with lava and see Nere, dead. Not trapped. Not even like 10 feet from the duergar telling me he needs help. I turn around to go back and maybe tell someone *but all the NPCs are now gone.* The whole dungeon is now empty except for some animated armor and all the mini bosses around the actual forge. I figured this has to do with me killing all the duergar before even arriving at the main camp someone, but now I have arrived here on an entirely new guy, having *not* killed a single duergar yet, and the same damn thing happens. Even weirder, despite him no longer being harassed, Shitstick still warns me about the cursed lands when I attempt to enter the elevator for the first time. The quest to rescue the Deep Gnomes is stuck with a marker that leads to absolutely nothing. The only gnomes I have found in the place was one who threatened to blow us all up and the dead ones being kicked into the water right near the boat's arrival point. What is up with this? Has anyone else had this problem at all? What is *supposed* to happen here? Like, can I actually talk to Nere, *alive*, and not simply through Speak with Dead? It feels like it's skipping over an entire quest the moment I arrive and just triggering the end point. The other is that for some reason, everyone is acting like Lae'zel killed Shadowhart and that Shadowhart is absent from the party; despite that never happening and the cutscenes being made even funnier because she's just standing there in the background while people say she's dead.
So I'm sitting here looking at a black widow on my porch and it's a big fat fucker. I wanted to take a pic but I don't want to get too close. Yet the image my camera picks up looks like I am trying to snap the pic from the opposite wall of the porch when I'm only about 2 feet from the spider. Why is that?

This was on PS5, too. What fucking crazy-ass exploit was that? Every status bar procced at once and my HP just went straight to 0 without anything actually hitting me (didn't even play the hit animation or show the yellow in the HP bar). I know it was an exploit or a cheat, since the fucker's name was "one shot" and that's exactly what the hell happened. The only animation his model ever did besides walking and rolling was pointing down. I was just fucking around doing Varre's quest super quick, and was about to finger sever out as soon as I got in, but I was killed near instantly upon spawning in. I just wanna know what the hell happened because I didn't know there was currently a way to straight up cheat on PS5, so it has to be an exploit, right?
Maybe it's even already happened and I'm simply not aware of it.

I'm trying to think of ways to counter cheating through custom mods as I've seen used in other games I've played. Like changing wall textures to be transparent or invisible (easy; just don't allow them to be modded) or player models with huge axis lines extending from them, so they clip through walls (where my question stems from). I know I can check for custom model files being used and allow or deny connections, but if I still want players to be able to have custom shit, the next best solution I thought it was making it so a custom model still has to fit within a certain boundary of size, eliminating the huge axis lines and other fuckery cheaters might try. Is that even possible, though? I don't think I've ever seen anything actually do it. I guess this would pertain mostly to the engine so let's just say UE5 or Unity since those are most likely what I would use.
I'm curious if it would ever actually be possible to encounter one of his joke items in the wild, or if they merely only exist in photos. And if they are real plants: Could I just... Take it? Would it be like finding painted rocks or would that be akin to the dude who ate the banana art?

Because it doesn't seem to matter currently if you play ranked games or casual games, the general experience tends to be the same. But one has numbers and things to go with it. You still get people playing to win in casual games and you get people dicking around having fun in ranked games, and the ranks don't necessarily indicate how they play as a team and a whole bunch of other things that make it less than ideal.
I have never had a pair of shoes that could last more than a few years. I've even paid for expensive shoes that claimed to be super durable and they fell apart faster than a cheap ass $10 pair from Walmart. I'm at a point where I have very little hope that anyone, anyone, makes good, comfortable shoes that aren't made of paper mache.
I just fired this up on the PS5 after claiming it from the monthly games, and even though every volume bar is at maximum, the cutscenes are extremely quiet. Is this just the game or could it be my TV/PS5 settings?
I've seen lists of songs with deep lyrics, songs that are upbeat but depressing at the same time, songs not on the radio, and other things like that... But I have never seen a list of songs that are just super fun to *sing.* Some examples of things I like singing are Lewis Capaldi, anything by Chris Cornell (though I wish I could have that awesome gutteral/growly sound in *my* voice), Cottonmouth, Nirvana, RHCP, Tool, etc. I love long sustains and just dudes and dudettes belting out staccato. The feeling of matching pitch and tone you get in your stomach and lungs as the sounds reverberate together is exhilarating. Not to mention the catharsis of putting your heart and soul into singing along with an angry song when you're pissed.
Not sure if I need to elaborate. I'm sick of having to scroll through an entire fucking novella just to find the recipe when I do a search for something.
The world is so detailed, I just want to know about it. Like... What's the alien Zorg has as a pet and things like that. Are the movies really just kind of self-contained, or are they inspired/based on something? Are there maybe books set in the world?
