I'm down with the cob.
I'm down with the cheese.
But who the fuck eats that amount of raw onion in one sitting?

It's a cob round here. You can take your rolls down south where they belong.

The danger here is that they make "open" standards so horrendously complex and ever evolving that only the billionaire mega corporations can can realistically keep up with them.
See the web where Google now control it completely by having such an enormous amount of code that even Microsoft couldn't be arsed to keep up, or Office Open XML, where 100% compatibility is limited to exactly one product: The one that made it. I just downloaded the documentation for the standard. It is over 5000 fucking pages long. That was part 1 of 4.

Who doesn't enjoy a nice pair of flares/jeans with the bottom all frayed where you've walked on it, and wet up to your knees because that's the reality of weather.

So do most of mine. Makes maintaining data integrity a lot simpler and it's how my database replication tools work.
GDPR was the only time I bothered to delete the data, and even then it was me setting the content of the records to "Information removed due to GDPR".
Being able to undelete data is a powerful customer service tool, and when Grandma's Facebook account gets hacked (because her password is one of her grandkid's names), and all the photos get nuked (and being grandma, Facebook is their photo backup solution), they're probably going to want that all that restoring again.
But then if data privacy was important to you, you wouldn't have put it on Threads.

You mean you want them to read things before signing?
That's going to require them doing their jobs. They're not going to be happy about that!

In real life we had cybernetic implants shut down by corporations because they weren't profitable enough.
I don't think there's anything more cyberpunk than that.
We could definitely use more neon though. Might have to look into WLED and light strips again.

Yeah, it's surprising how much pocket fluff gets in there. If it no longer clicks into place, chances are it needs a good clean.

The annoying thing is they don't really need to. PS5 SSD loading is near instant. They're still using techniques that I first noticed in Soul Reaver.
Still we're a long way from San Andreas and it's miles of open country between cities to hide the loading.

Yeah, the middle tooth is like a leftover thing. He used to have really awful teeth up to and including Legend I think.
It would probably need some quite horrendous surgery to move it all over by half a tooth, and tbh he doesn't need to. It certainly never hurt his career in the pretty boy years, and I don't see why it would now.

I can see why they'd do that tbh. Being able to delete something posted in error is something that may not be guaranteed in the Fediverse. Once it's out there, you're relying on others to delete that cute picture of your cat with your shrivelled up little winkie clearly visible in the reflection of your TV.

We trusted corporations.
I'd like to think we've collectively learned our lessons, but watching people migrate from Reddit to fucking Discord makes me think that we really have not and probably never will.

Sure, but for all the times my electricity goes negative for half an hour, the monthly bill indicates that is vastly outweighed by all the times that it isn't.

I was tempted by the outrageous electricity prices a year or two ago.
But then I swapped to Agile Octopus which pretty much halved my bills and made it not really worth doing. I work from home most of the time anyway, so my usage is spread over the day.
Because it turns out SW/Lloyds replaced their computer system last July, and since then none of my pension payments have been going into my account. Our accountant has had to chase them up since somebody noticed at the start of the year. And only now have they admitted it, and making noises about fixing it.
Is anyone else getting problems with charging from an external USB charger after the latest DualSense update? We updated both controllers, and now neither will charge from an Anker USB charger we've been using. They both charge from the PS5 itself. The charger works fine for phones. It's like they've updated them to no longer charge from any source other than the PS5, and maybe official PS5 charging docks. Don't have one of those to test. Annoying to say the least, as it means playing while charging now needs a cable trailing across the living room floor.
