Can not delete lemmy.world account

I've tried to delete my lemmy.world account, but can still log into my fully functional account. I've tried multiple times and waiting it out for 3 or 4 days now.

All account deletion seems to do is log you out.

edit: seems a similar issue is known, and my lemmy.ml account wont delete in a similar way. https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/1637
