I’m used to browsing the web on Firefox with ad blocking - works great. My experience of Safari with AdBlock Pro is much less good - many websites block access unless it’s disabled. I also used to have good results with Firefox on Android. Does anyone have better suggestions? Many thanks!
In settings, sounds, system sounds, there is an option for system clicks I have that turned off, but everything's I tap the keyboard it clicks. How do I turn off the clicking sound? Apple says sounds &haptics but I can't find that option Edit: solved : I have a third party keyboard SwiftKey installed. That was what was doing it. Forgot I had that installed. Dealing with this for a year. Lol
iOS App Store seems to have about nine hundred ‘file managers’ all of which are anything but and demand ridiculous subscription costs. Is there a decent file manager for iOS that actually will do file management things like select multiple file & rename etc that isn’t a scammy subscription/Ad ridden mess?

I'm looking for a message backup solution my iCloud is almost full, most messages I don't want to remove them completely so I would like to download all the messages from my phone and put them in some web application that will allow me to view them so I'm probably looking for two apps, one that downloads iOS messages to my PC/Mac and some sort of web app (preferably self-hosted) that will display them and allow searching then i can set auto delete of messages older than one year can you recommend anything?
So I use this really cool feature a lot on my iPhone, and I really love how you can make text replacements. I have a lot so I could easily shortcut my way through conversations. For example: Whenever I type “tm” it results in “/me”, this is because I am actively on twitch and kick. What’s your thoughts on the iOS text replacements feature, do you use it or have you heard of it? I don’t see much people talking about this feature or maybe I’m not in the right zone of iOS. Like if I want to create running functional programs that import stuff like AVFoundation and just don't have the UI/visual side to worry about, is there a way to do that and on iOS/iPhone cuz that's all I have rn?
I just submitted feedback to Apple because I was shocked that there was no apparent way to add a folder bookmark to the Home Screen. You can save a website to the Home Screen on iOS and created an alias on MacOS. So, I don't think this is something that's technically not possible to do nor a foreign concept for Apple. Use case: I'm traveling and have all my documents in a folder in iCloud. Yes, you can set that folder as a favorite in Files but it would be more convenient, given. the hectic and stressful nature of traveling, to simply have access to that folder from the Home Screen. Even better, now that I think about it, it would be great to have a Smart Folder so any document or email or booking confirmation or SMS or WhatsApp message, etc., that I tag in iCloud with "London" could easily be found from one spot on the Home Screen. Perhaps there's a future where we can ask Siri to show me all my documents and messages for my upcoming trip (not that I trust AI will ever be smart enough to figure this all out).
I recently converted some internal services to use a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) with SSL. Previously, I accessed them via 'sub.domain.com:1234', but now, with nginx proxying from port 443 to the actual service port, I no longer need to specify the port. However, iOS keeps remembering the port whenever I start typing the subdomain. How can I prevent this?

I’ve just switched from multiple email accounts to using the 5 custom domains for iCloud. However, now I’ve lost the per email custom signatures. Is there any way to get this back within the iCloud custom domain setup?
With Goodnotes 6 being released, it now is a subscription instead of a flat payment. I am looking for a replacement app that is not subscription based. I have tried onenote and really did not care for it. Notability is one that i have seen suggested, use it a single payment?

New iOS user here, coming from Android. I am looking for a simple gym log aka workout tracker. My requirements are: - Add exercises with a custom name. - Log multiple sets per exercise. Log per set: weight, and number of repetitions - Create workouts based on your exercises - Ability to start the aforementioned workout, and track the exercises/weights/reps per workout - Data stored on device only - Available in Germany On android I used GymRoutines https://f-droid.org/packages/com.noahjutz.gymroutines/), which provides exactly the functionalities that I need. On iOS, I simply cannot find an app that either requires an account or is freemium with a very limited free plan. I would really appreciate some recommendations. Also feel free to roast me for expecting FOSS apps or free apps on iOS.
My iPhone 14 cannot be detected on my iTunes PC (Windows 11). My iTunes is updated and I recently installed it yesterday. No iPhone icon is appearing but it is recognized by my PC as a storage. Tried updated Apple USB Driver on device manager but it keeps telling that my drivers are updated. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
Did anyone else notice that if you long-press on the plus button in a conversation it’ll pull up the gallery? Also.. If you double tap the plus button it’ll pull up the fourth menu item. Whichever that is. Not sure if it’s a glitch or not
When I was an Android user I found a fantastic free app call Convertbee and it converted pretty much any unit to any other unit you can imagine. It also did currency. Since I switched to iOS full time I have not found a great replacement. I have been using Units Plus and went to pay for your full version, however it has not had an update in 2+ years and I worry about it being abandoned (looking at you Bean for Lemmy). Looking for a replacement app available in the US. Thanks. ETA: I have no issue paying for the app, but absolutely no subscriptions.
I'll be getting an iPhone pro in a week or two, and have been an android user since forever. Never used any apple products before, this will for now be a secondary work phone for me. I'll also have their Apple One? service. Every time when I start using my AirPods, iOS shows me that roll-over. Every single time! How to disable this behavior? Please, any suggestions?

I started using an app called aCar back when I used Android, then that app was purchased and the lifetime users were forced to subscribe. The name was changed to Fuelly and the new owner abandoned it 4+ years ago. I have looked at a couple on iOS and they either are barely functional (only tracking fuel ups) or very extensive app permissions are used. I am looking for something that will track multiple cars, ideally across multiple devices so my wife and daughter can track theirs too. Fuel, maintenance, part numbers, etc.
I have been using Raycast with its integrated AI spell checking and I am completely impressed with the results. I would love to find an equivalent solution for iOS. When I look in the App Store, there are so many options and many of them are overly expensive. I wish I could find out if there is a consensus on a clear winner. One with the ability to create your own saved prompts would be ideal.
What app you'd recommend for listening local, manually downloaded .mp3-formatted podcasts? It's a pity that the one you like the most is not willing to upload their episodes into any platform :D
I have a hardware device which allows me to stream live free to air tv over my wifi network. The manufacturer has decided to retire to product and has removed the app from the AppStore!? So, next time I get a new phone I’ll be screwed. I am not jailbroken, and the last time I was was a while ago. I have a windows pc, iPhone 8, and iPad Air 2 at my disposal. Both devices have the app in question installed. Ideally, I would be able to download the IPA and move it to a new device without having to side load it. At this point in my life I don’t really have the time and patience to jailbreak. Do you guys have any ideas?

Looking for recommendations for a sleep app on iOS, I used one on android quite some time back but looking to get good suggestions from people here using some actively. Specifically would like something that can wake you up at the best time by tracking your sleep cycle time and whatnot. Hopefully not needing a watch of any kind as well.

I have recently noticed that there is an outline around buttons in iOS. At first I thought that this was because of the setting “differentiate without color” but it remains even after I turned that setting off. Is this a new feature or some other setting I have turned on?
When my iPhone 14 connects to my wife’s car Bluetooth (2015 Toyota Highlander) it starts playing Apple Music (I only have one song in it) how do I get it to open Spotify instead? I have a Shortcut setup for Spotify to run when connected but it does not actually run, it just gives a notification that there is a shortcut for it.
Does anyone have a list to the Apple communities on here, I’m looking for ones like shortcuts and watchOS, if there anymore you recommend that would be nice to.
So far there are three methods I am aware of to trigger a shortcut in the native iOS Shortcut app: - Use Siri - Tap the shortcut in the iOS Shortcut app - use personal automation All of these require me to do something. Are there any other possibilities to do so? Background: I am running home assistant and HomeKit and would like to trigger a shortcut using intercom, to announce text to people in certain rooms/areas using HomePods there.
