As a PC gamer who is basically completely new to the FF franchise (my brother recently bullied me into being his paladin in XIV, and I'm loving it, but I haven't played a single-player main line FF ever), what's a good one to pick up during the sale to get me started? After reading up a little bit, I'm kind of overwhelmed with navigating different versions of the same game, the order of the games and if it's important to play some of them first, being wary of some questionable (?) PC ports etc.
Any guidance from the lovely veterans here would be much appreciated!

Hi everyone! I created this community because I don't think there is a space for discussing the WEC on Lemmy so far. I'm a recent Reddit refugee (where I mostly lurked), but I wanted to get active and contribute to the Lemmy wave. Sorry if this has been discussed here before, I‘m a new reddit refugee and I just stumbled over this community, awesome that this place already exists again! I always enjoyed the discussion threads on the subreddit throughout a race weekend, so I was wondering if something similar will be done here? On the other hand, this community is still very small, so it may be a little overkill I guess. Looking forward to following my first GP through Lemmy either way - I‘ll see you all on Friday

I agree, Tamsyn Muir really leaned into the weirdness, even more than in the first one. I had to force myself at one or two points to just roll with it, but yes, it does make for quite a satisfying twist/reveal in the end

Geht mir genauso, hab direkt noch die Mlem App auf dem Homescreen dort platziert wo vorher Apollo war, jetzt holt mich nicht mal mein Muscle-Memory zu Reddit zurück.
