I would like to contribute to lemmy but I have issue with the docker image. I got this error when trying to execute docker-compose up : "ERROR: Service 'lemmy' failed to build: the --mount option requires BuildKit. Refer to https://docs.docker.com/go/buildkit/ to learn how to build images with BuildKit enabled" I executed the commands that was in the link in the error message and I still have the same issue.

When someone posts something on a server he joined, the post doesn't appear directly on the community from another instance. Why is that?

I use Lemmy.world regularly and I have never seen any toxic content. Also, most of the instances have very loose requirements to join so why did it only decide to defederate 2 instances?

The problem is that there's a limited number of big instances that may not fit your need. In centralized social media you are also free to go on a competitors so in the end there's no big difference.
