By the nature of ETFs, you're definitely going to make less income because your money gets put into an investment pool and returns are proportional. However it makes you less tied to the stock market, which is increasingly tied to a person's ability to retire

Well, both of us are socialists (I can't comment on the other person). We think about money in such a different way that any money joke about investment is going to lose it's humor. I don't understand it as a joke either, but I definitely understood the financial advice. He selected some large, relatively uncontroversial companies that will pay you part of the quarterly profits based on the number of stocks you own. Tbh I'd avoid the day trading and choose high dividend ETFs instead. $100k is still very out of reach for most people, but it's a reasonable investing portfolio.

It's ok for symbols to have different meanings in different contexts. If someone is new to the context, they should research or ask about it. People that are familiar should provide the mutual understanding, provided they have the will and ability to educate.

It's part of the flaw in polling. AWU is a pretty substantial minority union (meaning they don't have bargaining rights) and they have unionized retail stores. However, Google is also a massive company

The same way you organize anything. Start by talking to a couple trusted coworkers to form an organizing committee. All the members of the OC need to talk to coworkers, handle workplace drama, agitate for better conditions, educate people about unions, maintain systematic campaign tracking, and fight against the boss during their union busting campaign. When I worked remotely, it was as simple as sending a dm like this:

Hey, would you be able to talk over break? Some coworkers and I were discussing some issues and I wanted to hear your thoughts.

Some of the more avid history fans might be thinking, "Casey Jones saved several lives, why is he being portrayed as a scab?" The intro that Utah gives for this song doesn't explain it enough in my opinion. It's a fictitious and comedy song that uses the name recognition of Casey, simply because there weren't really any well known railroad scabs and Joe Hill was basing this song on the Ballad of Casey Jones in honor of a rail strike.

The group, now made up of seven young protesters, all 18 or under, has one simple message: Trans Kids Deserve Better: we are not pawns for your politics. > > The powerful direct action has been organised by the “[Trans Kids Deserve Better](https://transkidsdeservebetter.org/about)” network, which is calling for: access to gender affirming healthcare for trans children and young people, protection from discrimination and disrespect in their daily lives and the right to be heard in all decisions that affect them. > > Their protest comes in the wake of the government using emergency powers to ban all access to puberty blockers in the UK, a move that was supported by Labour’s Wes Streeting, likely to be the next Secretary of State for Health. It also comes in the context of a General Election campaign where trans people and trans youth have been used as ‘culture war’ talking points, but not allowed to speak for themselves. > > “We are staging this protest to remind politicians and voters that we’re real kids, not just political talking points. We may not have a vote, but it is our lives that are at stake,” said one of the activists staging the protest. “Gender-affirming healthcare is a matter of life and death for us, and we hope that our actions will bring awareness to this fact and encourage others to fight for the healthcare and dignity that we are so shamefully denied.”
