Are posts supposed to escape to Mastodon/Misskey etc?

My account on ohai.social follows me here (and I follow it). Also the ohai.social accounts follows the magazine I created here but it doesn't see the content. The magazine is supposed to collect posts tagged with a hashtag but it only ever picks up the posts I make on ohai.social and not any other posts. When I try to search for my fedia.io account on misskey.io it doesn't find it. calckey.social sees it but just spins it's wheels trying to follow it.
Note my problem is mostly fedia.io to ohai.social rather than the other way around. Posts do sometimes arrive here from ohai.social.

While there have been obvious problems with posts leaving/arriving on fedia.io I haven't bothered to ask but it seems slightly more reliable for posts from outside to arrive on fedia.io so maybe it's time to ask. I haven't seen a fedia.io sourced post make it to my accounts on ohai.social, misskey.io or calckey.social so I'm wondering if that direction has a blockage or configuration error? They sometimes make it to lemmy.world but I'm trying to read the magazine there rather than relying on a hashtag that I follow.

The 4 day women's Tour de Suisse starts on the weekend. It's on GCN if you need TdF watching training (stage one starts at 02:20 AEST Sunday which is brutal). The naming of the race seems particularly bizarre as the French and English names for the race are "Tour de Suisse Women".
