I picked Ecce Homo because I think if I have some background from the man himself, his other works will open up a bit more. Yes, he does jerk himself off a lot LMFAO. I'm debating whether I wanna go through his things chronologically and see how he grows, or if I just wanna go through the most popular ones.

For Ecce Homo, I'm using the Anthony M. Ludovici translation.

Any tips would ofc always be nice <3

Edit: I've been laughing nonstop while reading it. I don't find the insane confidence he has annoying, just really funny. Also, this man HATES Germans, and (who could have foreseen this) HATES women. Surely he'll have good opinions on minorities! /s

  • Thanks to the new Zelda game, I am getting back into loving video games and making time for them. I'm playing Ocarina of Time atm :) Also, I've been reading The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky. So far, really nice, but not anywhere close to the end yet. Same goes for Moby Dick by Herman Melville (the racism gets unbearable though). And then, I've been starting my journey with Nietzsche, I chose Ecce Homo to begin with. Lastly, some music! The new Lana del Rey and Danny Brown x Jpegmafia albums have been on repeat. Been getting into the group "Lamp" as well. Bad Bunny released a song a few days ago and I've been absolutely addicted to it too. Hope my beautiful comrades have been well, love you all! Remember to take care of yourselves and your circle.

You cannot expect genuine meaningful change in a violent system without using violence yourself. They promised a peaceful shutdown, and it was peaceful. To me, today was a show of strength. The workers of South Africa are able to organise themselves and conduct themselves with discipline. The fact that the state was so threatening and afraid proves that we have the power to do anything when the time comes. For now, South Africa's leftist parties and organisations need to continue organising and strengthening our power, so that when the next shutdown, or mass protest, or even revolution comes, it will be done with eloquence and precision. Was today a victory? In some aspects yes, in others no. But it definitely wasn't a failure. Thousands of people protesting despite the state's threats and bringing several strategic areas to a halt doesn't scream failure, it screams progress and growing strength. The media definitely sensationalised the possibilities and fearmongering was everywhere, so it was insanely hyped up and over exaggerated. The protests could've been bigger, more places could've been slowed down, etc etc etc. There's always ways to improve.

A national shutdown led by the EFF will be occurring on the 20th of March 🇿🇦🇿🇦

I think the best of all is directly from those participating, so the main 2 are SAFTU and EFF. For non affiliated groups, you could turn to SABC, News24, People's Dispatch, and Daily Maverick. As always, read objectively and cross reference <3

I think they offer decent criticisms, however, I still think what the EFF is trying to do is good. Things could always be better organised no matter what. I think a national shutdown (if successful) is positive. The workers are being taught how to stand up for themselves and make their voices be heard.

I would've appreciated if they joined the national shutdown either way, every person matters and to see them abstain even if they agree on the fundamental demands is saddening.

Personally, I don't think the EFF is controlled opposition. I made a post a few months ago explaining my stance and process, I'll share it here.

    https://lemmygrad.ml/post/431813

I still don't feel completely 100% about them, but I critically support them and I think that overall they are a positive for the South African people. Nobody is organising people like them.

Will the shutdown accomplish anything? Maybe, maybe not, but it will definitely get people riled up and at the very least make an impact.

Also, yes, hello fellow South African <3

  • The EFF and multiple other leftist organisations are leading a national shutdown on the 20th of March. The main demands are that our President, Cyril Ramaphosa, steps down, and an end to loadshedding. Other demands include the usual: an end to widespread unemployment, poverty, landlessness, corruption, and so forth. This was originally announced on the 19th of January, I believe. I'm not sure if China "owns" the infrastructure they invest in, but they do make deals. "We give you x and you give y."

The difference between majority Chinese investments vs. majority Western investments is the fairness and impact of the deals. Whereas majority Chinese investments genuinely help develop their partners on fair terms, majority Western investments purposefully underdevelop their partners and create dependency.

Investments can be good, they can be bad; unfortunately some can't imagine it being good and immediately attack it.

Context: The EFF protested at the State Of The Nation Address last night, halting proceedings for 45 minutes. The party was asked to leave and as they left, the members then started climbing onto the stage in order to protest further. When this happened, security and armed forces forcibly removed members. Video of context (the removal starts at 33:00): https://youtu.be/lZ989Gw1ToI Some photos: ![](https://lemmygrad.ml/pictrs/image/d1d375f9-565f-4834-a8cc-553cffd43763.jpeg) ![](https://lemmygrad.ml/pictrs/image/cc2db39b-615d-4cec-a82f-c824204965ce.jpeg) ![](https://lemmygrad.ml/pictrs/image/3e80b4a7-2b3a-4501-ae54-a2e2090070c3.jpeg) May we see a socialist South Africa in our lifetime. 🇿🇦❤

Fuck the South African border war. They were not "brave", they were imperialist and coloniser dogs, props to the actual BRAVE resistance in Angola and Namibia who gave their lives for their freedom and sovereignty. And ofc, shoutout Cuba and USSR for helping. And Afrikaans, ah yes, yk, the language created by the colonisers!! Not the slaves, nope not at all! Burn or destroy the Voortrekker monument, fuck them for whitewashing colonisation and making the colonisers seem like brave and inspiring people. Matter fact, replace everything in the monument with memorabilia of those who protected their land and rename the thing. Fuck Jan van Riebeeck too. Hate these white supremacists, thinking colonisation and apartheid is "culture that needs to be protected". Out of everything Afrikaans, you choose to be proud of genocide and imperialism! Edit: These reactionaries are all over reddit anyways. Any time south africa comes up you'll have some white kid crying about how we live in reversed apartheid and white people are actually now marginalised and the comment will have 30+ upvotes.

How is North Africa handled when it comes to Pan Africanism and Pan Arabism? Will they simply be the intersection between our two peoples?
