    I just heard that if you say “I feel x, but y” you’re more likely to believe the former thing. Thus maybe instead of saying “I want to hurt myself but have to not,” you could say “I’m not going to do harmful things, but I do have urges.” Maybe I’m being insensitive, maybe it’s worth a shot.

    Not a gamer but HealthyGamerGG is kinda fire. Reminding me why I touched grass for a whole month last December. I was balling then, making lots of personal progress. I’m a little mad, perceiving things as signs from the universe, but I’ve seen few messages so clear as “log off, nerd!”

    I don’t trust my adhd brain with this treat device, and I’ve had various self-improvement-y cycles, but I hope this time will have an impact like that major one did.

    Try to avoid getting addicted to self improvement again maybe lol.

    Totally. Being ignored is so ambiguous and worrisome and like no one cares. Having your average “difficulty with reciprocity in conversation” I’ve felt ignored a lot. Probably why I’m so eccentric and colorful and opinionated. People have stronger positive or negative reactions to me so I can feel seen and annoy them better to elicit more reactions.

    There are times when I will announce extreme opinions only to totally contradict myself just because I need people to help me figure out what to think. I put the “and” in “back and white thinking.” Polar opposites both have reasonable probability of being correct. Many times I have asked a question online and had to lay out every opposing argument to my repliers because there’s too much information to decide what to believe.

    Real. I’m scared people take me too seriously (or not seriously enough)* when I externally process, but it rarely stops me.

    *I think the PDA just wants me to control, like everything else, what everyone thinks about me regardless of whether it’s positive or negative.

    I won’t argue what I can’t defend and I can defend a lot of stuff. It’s nice when I have a partner to help me debate though. DMs are nice when you have a personal thing to work out, but it doesn’t always work.

    Sometimes being an empath sounds better than being an apath, but I can see the downsides.

    I keep getting TikTok ads and whenever I see the shop logo in the corner or “sponsored” I scroll away. They claim to help AuDHD but I have no idea what to trust. I’m curious about mushrooms, lions mane or whatever, and microdosing hallucinogens.

    How to rest?

    As an AuDHD perfectionist I’ve never valued rest that much. I feel like I should be doing something interesting and being sedentary is bad for you. Recently I have realized the importance of resting as I have been exhausted by external demands and stimuli. I am at the point where even mostly lying around in my room all day, small demands and noises are too much. All I am able to really do is hyperfocus on my phone or maybe half attentively read. I know people can spend days in bed recovering from life, but I don’t have that time. I value this time not doing anything, but I’m afraid if I don’t get active or something I will have trouble falling asleep later. I know staying in your bed while awake disassociates it from getting ready to sleep so I have been lying elsewhere. Any tips? I *have* been eating. Are there comfy headphones that actually kill all the sound? Bc my ears do not want to process anything anymore.

    ADHD/Autism = same thing theory?

    I’ve seen it referenced on TikTok but I’m curious about the evidence. It seems pretty plausible. The same gene is involved apparently. There’s very high “comorbidity.” Even in non “AuDHDers” many of the symptoms of one (that an individual “doesn’t have”) are present. Autists can be very different from eachother and it seems like they may sometimes have more in common with some ADHDers than eachother. Dividing things into specific labels like this is kinda lib and undialectical anyway. People already realizing Aspergers and other things were just autism. “Pathological Defiant Disorder” (allegedly) seems to basically just be a common presentation of AuDHD. There’s also the monotropism theory that both tend to be high in. This is just my uneducated opinion on something I’ve been fixated on and pondering for a little while. I’m curious if anyone has any serious evidence or more interesting thoughts. There’s probably also connections to other neurodivergences.

    I’m being hyperbolic, but [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@antiplasticlady?) just re-radicalized me and in ADHD energy mode and I know this urgency won’t last forever. I hate when things I’m around feel contaminated by toxins and I already wear a mask for the polluted air. I hate getting rid of things that might be useful, but also plastics bad so it might be useful. I do have OCD, but this isn’t about that it’s an exaggerated but rational urge. I realize this account’s lib asking you to “vote with your dollar,” but for personal health what do you think? I can afford this eventually. I’m clearly monotropism spiraling but it’s fun. Also, should we stop recycling plastic if the product will be worse?

    AuDHDers, how tf do you calm down?

    I have trouble telling what the pain in my stomach is telling me, so I pretty much only just realized how bad my body hates certain sensory and social stuff. It’s as though my insides were on fire and the only way to slightly affect it is to cry (and obvi get away from the noise). I thought it was just anxiety or under stimulation before, but no, those are separate things. I have spent hours today doing various self care type stuff (meditation, being in nature, exercising, mindfully eating, yoga nitra, massage, taking a bath, fun things on the internet, positive stimulus of other sorts, zoning out), and the feeling’s still there. I don’t even mask. How do you deal with having to be in a sensory hell for hours of the day? How do you calm down? Please don’t say drugs. Context: ADHD often makes people struggle with interoception and being able to relax.

    I happened to open Instagram and immediately saw there was some drama going on. It appears to be agreed that PlantsFanon had a bad take about Lenin and stood by it when challenged by Sungmanitou. The decolonized Buffalo people allege they went around democratic centralism, brought up nuclear and threatened to wreck. Sungmanitou says they stood by the bad take, repeatedly misgendered them and acted like feds. Who’s in the right here? What would be a good outcome?
