Yeah, but the problem is we don't know. I'm not trying to defend the man, I'm trying to say that it would be typical of a media outlet to put in a headline that sounds good regardless of whether it's technically true.

Read the article, it’s not much more than clickbait on the surface. I hate QAnon but there is little info in the article about the “accessory to kidnapping” charges, which were “custodial” (done by a parent or guardian) and his defense lawyer said he was “essentially a landlord”.
I can’t say with certainty because as I said there’s not much presented about the actual charges, but this article for sure seems like ragebait.

I freelanced for a nonprofit using Upwork. I’m going to be honest, I’ve not done any other freelance work, but I did see it had a job board.

Let’s be honest, tho: you don’t know either as her cause of death has not been released. I agree, the other user jumped to conclusions, but you can’t say anything definitive as of now either.

I don't know, maybe I'm just naïve, but it feels like dehumanizing the other side (which, yes, is what they do to us) drives us further apart. I'm not saying "when they go low, we go high", but I can't help but feel like it's harmful to my own psyche to dehumanize others.
Then again, I wouldn't say, "I wish Hitler hadn't killed himself" (except for him to face a harsh and public punishment for his crimes) and, though I'm not up on what McConnell has particularly done, if he's anything like the middle to most extreme of the R party, it's probably still fascist activity.

I can see this both ways - I also lamented his recovery, but it does make you feel something strange wishing for another human to die.

This poor man, doing literally everything he can to better this town, and the “ruling class” shuts him down at every turn. What the actual fuck Alabama?!

Or maybe a QR code that goes to an intro to the fediverse post/video! We should really plan this and make it. I hate Reddit, but I'm willing to go back to bring awareness to the fediverse.

And could they censor it if it’s not offensive? We could just make Kibby and Lemmy. I mean, I’m down. Or just the fediverse logo!

And with Reddit opening up another r/Place experiment on Thursday, users may soon have a big new canvas to express their discontent.

Yeah, but the sub I made a replacement for was small and specialized, but the super low numbers here don’t really facilitate a good community because most of the content was people telling their stories. I’m not running back to Reddit by any means, but I do miss that community (r/Narcolepsy if anyone’s curious).
I love the nerdyness, delivery, and old school rap style of this iconic Beastie Boys song. Maybe it’s just nostalgia that makes me appreciate it, because this song was on the radio a lot when I was a kid, but I really wasn’t into it then except for the robot voice and the hook. What do you guys think of this song? I’m not necessarily a Beastie Boys fan but I might listen to some of their earlier stuff- any suggestions? Ps. First post on a music magazine/sub/community ever - be it on Reddit, Lemmy, or others besides some Last.fm back in the day, and like 2 Genius insights, I’ve been a lurker. It’s like I finally feel comfortable here.
Just having fun getting things rolling on here. I'm a follower of the horned god and the earth mother, but I also worship Hecate. What about anyone else? What's your paganism look like?
Iowa already charges EV owners a $130 registration fee. Now they will start charging a $0.026 tax on EV charging at charging stations.
