Since lemmy.world is having trouble for the second time in three days, I decided to switch back over to my lemmy.ml account. Unfortunately I don't have all of my communities back over here in my .ml account, and it took me over an hour to manually subscribe to the ones I had over on my .world account. It would be great if there was a way that we could export our community list from one instance and import it to another. It would make it much easier to change communities if the need arises.

No country for old men. I get that it's supposed to be bleak and not resolve at the end. I still hate that it's bleak and doesn't resolve at the end.
Yes! I was expecting more, and was left feeling cheated at the end with no resolution. It felt like wasted time.

But that British sense of humor is quite different. I, on the other hand, thought that it was hilarious, and endlessly quotable. But I also like a good bit of the other Monty Python comedy.

I was sad to learn that many of those are fake and staged. I didn’t want to believe it, but there was one with a guy whose arm was bitten off by an alligator. My friend pointed out that there were multiple camera angles, and it would have to be multiple takes or you would be able to see the other cameras.

To be fair, Pulp Fiction is one of those “love it” or “hate it” movies. There’s not a lot of in between. I’m in the “love it” camp, because it was so… different. I just dug it, but I can certainly understand how someone wouldn’t.

But what I'm supposed to do with my fear of instances randomly closing down!!??

If none of the 6 users are blind or been asking for accommodations, I think you’re good. But the blind community literally put Reddit on notice that, if 3rd party apps are forced to shutter and the official app doesn’t have accommodations, then the blind won’t be able to continue to use the site.
This seems like a cut and dried case to me. Reddit should not have forced out the 3PA until they had a plan to handle the disabled users. Instead, they figuratively gave the blind the finger and went ahead full speed, KNOWING (because the blind users had already put them on notice) that Reddit was going to be unusable for this group. This seems like textbook discrimination.

I am relatively new to Lemmy, although I’ve had my account since before the current Reddit uprising and migration. I want to create a community for pen lovers, since that was one of my favorite subs over on Reddit and there’s not one here. I was able to go to the main page on Lemmy.ml and choose to create a community. I put in the sidebar text, an icon, a banner, etc., and pressed “Create”, but I keep getting a popup telling me to “Match the requested format” over name at the top. I’ve tried “pens”, “!pens”, “c/pens”, “/c/pens”, and “https://lemmy.ml/c/pens”, and nothing seems to work. Any idea what it’s asking for? (And yes, I did a Google search and fell down several rabbit holes, but came up empty for an answer.”

Hey have you heard about 28-3? Do you know what 28-3 is?! Have you heard the story about 28-3?!? 28-3?!?! TWENTY-EIGHT THREE?!?!?
I love the Falcons, and, as a fellow (life-long) fan, I get so tired of hearing it. Any time the Falcons have a good lead, commentators gotta say it. It doesn’t even have to be the Falcons playing, if one team is up big on another, they will make sure to bring it up.
It is the cross to carry for the remainder of our fandom for this team. Maybe… MAYBE someday we can win a Super Bowl and get the monkey off our back, but I’m sure that if we do, at the end of the game as the confetti rains down, the commentators will mention 28-3.

Same. I saw a post on Mastodon recommending Lemmy, so I came here and signed up.
