I can only speak from personal experience. I process the world in much the same way. I find something neat, learn everything I can, then inevitably get bored a few months later. But I recently had the realization that I've been receding into hyper fixations to distract from the very real sources of depression in my life.
I would find myself feeling vaguely sad or unfulfilled and instead of addressing the source, I immediately dive into the minutiae of whatever I'm fixated on at the moment. Thinking to myself "surely I'll feel more fulfilled once I've figured out this software." Or "Won't it feel great when I'm done with this project?!".
But I never do feel fulfilled anymore. The sadness has never gone away. It's always been there, just out of sight. I'm surrounded by a graveyard of distractions.

Well, based on personal experience, I can tell you that some chemical dependency and spiralling mental health won't fix it. So I'm fresh out of ideas.

Oh yeah for sure. Throw some pot and booze in there and you've got a party. I'll never need to address just how bad things have gotten.

ADHD is great if you're depressed and don't know it or don't want to admit it. You can just distract yourself by going from one dopamine fix to the next while the color slowly drains from your world. It also gives you the ability to ignore all the signs since you can hyper focus on literally anything else.

I've used that script and can confirm it works. I was actually coming into this thread to recommend it. I don't think there is anything nefarious in that script. Or at least I haven't had anything bad happen on the machine I used it on. I suppose someone with more knowledge could look through the script to see if anything looks out of place.

Re-replying to this just to say that the last two weeks of my life have been consumed by Assetto Corsa and all it's amazing mods. The free-roams are great, but the vintage cars and tracks are what have been occupying all my time. Trying to cut a clean and fast lap around Battenbergring in an Alfa 33 has consumed all my free time.

I like my CZ P10C. In general I think CZ is slept on in the us. It's a great shooting gun, at decent price. I ended up putting different sights (night sights) and a better trigger in it. But that was just personal preference and not a necessity.

Why is every drawing Ben does somehow weirdly horny? Pete has a pretty flat ass so I'm not sure why he drew him with that dump truck. Unless it's a play on his last name or something.

I don't remember the surgeries but I do remember visiting the hospital in Chicago a few times as a kid. Really cool place, I remember having a lot of fun there, in between getting X-rays.

That's awesome! Super lucky too. Like, what are chances? For me it was pretty standard. My family Dr gave us a referral to them, and they took the case. I don't remember any of the surgeries since they all happened before I was 2.

I've had people tell me that to my face before.
Recently BeamNG added VR support. So the other day I dug out my old Logitech racing wheel and gave it a go. Holy shit is it fun. Beam is fun in flat, and it's fun in VR too. https://streamable.com/prvo6l But, I wanna try out racing against people. So if anyone here races, what do you play? Iracing seems expensive, entirely too serious, and a huge commitment. So I'm worried about going that route. Dirt 2 looks fun, and so does the new WRC.
Always make sure you use your precision ground clamp before welding on precision made parts.
So I decided to try it out with some shirt textures I made earlier today. I'm super happy with the results, and now I want a hexbear shirt in real life. ![bunny-vibe](https://hexbear.net/pictrs/image/a6f5fdc7-b312-4811-9659-a32f0ddaa259.gif "emoji bunny-vibe")
Super cool how many wholesome nich communities spring up in VR.

It's fare thee well my old true lover. I never expect to see you again. For I'm bound to ride that northern railroad. Perhaps I'll die upon this train. ![train-shining](https://www.hexbear.net/pictrs/image/fb23fadf-93d8-497e-9033-d2bcfd37ee53.png "emoji train-shining")

I scored a mitutoyo dual caliper, micrometer, and bore gauges. I also got a fowler indicator, stand, and surface plate. Managed to get everything for $50. ![bunny-vibe](https://hexbear.net/pictrs/image/a6f5fdc7-b312-4811-9659-a32f0ddaa259.gif "bunny-vibe") Also pictured is the poolish I have fermenting for bread I'm going to make tomorrow.
I've been playing an unreasonable amount of DCS this week, and I really wish they had a mig3 for me to kill nazis with. But alas, I must settle for a I-16 or P51D. ![sadness](https://www.hexbear.net/pictrs/image/3de7432c-5d0b-441d-9167-0c61cc3838ab.png "sadness") Still get to kill nazis tho. Neato control circuit in these. Extremely simple and very robust.
These flashy fuckers are 1.5 meters tall and have these beautiful bright orange flowers on them. The species is "Lilium Lancifolium" or "tiger lilies". The previous owner of our house planted tons of them around the yard and now each year they come back.
