Hey. I've been getting blasted lately from my trans friends who use this platform, and I've been through a real rough patch as of lately, so I've been taking it really badly. I just wanted to clear the air - that isn't me that made those comments. Personally, I don't even care about this subject, but my mental health hasn't been good and this only made it worse. I've pissed a lot of people off but this isn't something I'd ever say or do. Idk exactly how I'd convince you of this but to save my mental fortitude I'm not gonna explain any further. What am I supposed to do? Say, "oh no, this isn't me. Please don't hate me." If you believe me, I don't care. If you don't, I don't care either. I'm only doing this so people stop harassing me. It's this type of drama I left lemmy for, and I'm not of the mental capacity to deal with it more. So if you'd excuse me, I'll go back to not using this account anymore. If they replace protesting mods then the communities can just overload the new mods until they restrict the sub (again). The real problem is people giving up (which just so aligns with what reddit wants). Personally, that's the reason why I'm leaving because apparently a lot of people genuinely thought that a 2-day blackout would cut it. Yeah, right.

I hear the Oneplus One and Google Nexus 6 are decent options if you're ok with using a bit older hardware, and not 5G.
For the newer features, xiaomi offers the option to install different OSes OOB with only just an application (not as in app, but as if you were applying to get a job).
However. Try your absolute HARDEST to get a device not attached to a vendor, because lately (as in the last 10 years), more and more vendors have been locking down the bootloader for their devices.
Though, it's all personal preference. The devices page on https://lineageos.org/ is very comprehensive, just remember to choose a device with at least lineageos 19.0 if you want to continue getting updates. I hear that android 12 changed things and forcibly discontinued many devices.
