the age of the third individual was the most surprising part.

I think it’s more about bringing attention to the issue — I had noticed it but had no idea what was going on until you mentioned it.

so if it encourages conversation then that’s a good thing.

never heard them referred to as that, but then again this seems like a country term and I wouldn’t call the outer suburbs of Brisbane exactly country…

    my favourite hike.

I am a bit of a bigger person and it’s enjoyable. it’s tough, but if you pace it right it’s fine and the pay off is well worth it

stay away from mount coolum, it’s deceptively tough and honestly I don’t think it’s that great

  • New towers to dominate Indooroopilly skyline if plans get the nod
  • GloomyBagel GloomyBagel Now 100%

100% agree, and I hope as working from home becomes more popular/more of a standard, I will be much less dependent on my car.

obviously this can’t be the case for everyone but i’d be happy not driving 2 hours a day for work, let alone 3-4 hours on public transport.

I think until there’s better public transport to other areas of SEQ (and further even), we are going to always have a need for vehicles.

I would love to be able to catch a train to the heart of Caloundra, but for now the most efficient way for me to travel is to drive everywhere.

hahaha I am, and i hold my phone in my left hand. so when I take a photo, I rotate my phone clockwise which is “upside down” (camera lenses on the bottom of the phone) and gives me the same issue as OP.

normally web services will do the work for you by auto rotating and stripping the metadata. you could do a tiny edit like adjust the exposure by +/- 1 and then save. that should save the correct orientation.

I have a question for you though... are you left handed?

this is really interesting and a GREAT heads up for using lemmy/kbin

on ios, using a direct link the image auto rotates

    https://media.kbin.social/c7/87/c787717a1705f919a0163c83fc9894c7c378fa8ed9f74df9659d0f928f6b87fe.jpg

which made me think there had to be metadata in the image to indicate what orientation to show it in and I was correct

images uploaded maintain all metadata — please make everyone aware as this could lead to serious privacy issues.

also it depends, if someone asks “where are you from?” and you’re from Narangba or Caboolture, it’s easiest to just say Brisbane.

  • By the time I noticed (only because she was crying so loud I could hear it over my podcast as I drove past), I did a loop back around the block to see if she was OK and the staff at the mitsubishi car yard were out with her, had moved her car and were consoling her. Basically I was hoping to find out if whoever hit her did a runner or not? The poor thing was so upset. due to the rolling blackout... I think it's had its effect. I think I am done with reddit. it's a shame because as someone who doesn't use Facebook it was nice to have a sense of local community I otherwise don't get online. I still think besides the few odd regulars who brought the vibe down every chance they could, it was a genuinely great subreddit. anyway, I'm just curious how many of you are well and truly done with reddit? not even going back for a peak?
