Android makes me (almost) hate using a password manager – Google needs to fix it

Same setup, and its largely fine, but about 5-10% of the time bitwarden/keyboard will fail to show the password auto complete buttons, and I'll have to copy paste manually, or restart Firefox. Really annoying, albeit rare.

On the off chance this is a Ventoy quirk, have you tried writing the ISO directly to the USB and booting it?

Haven't needed driver disks in years, so if that doesn't work, my guess is its a Acer Thing.

Thats a repo of existing malware. Be careful with it. You can use that to start reverse engineering an existing malware. Use a VM that isnt connected to a network.

If you want to write something, go for it. Often malware is tailored to a single OS (Windows), so cross platform is less of a concern.

The hard part of writing malware is doing it in an undetectable way, which will usually require deeper OS knowledge, which you'll have to acquire over time. YouTube has some good videos if you hunt around.

There are two reasons to avoid a union:

    1. Fear of retaliation - Amazon et al.
    2. Perceived lack of need.

If you are well looked after by your company and are treated fairly, there is no need to create a union.

Apple may be in this category?

The link is just a lot more direct, and easier to audit.

A car mechanic buys some software from a company, internally it uses FOSS. Now they have to support the project? They might not even know it uses FOSS internally, I never read those licence things.

Doing it via taxation is probably the easiest option, but then it runs into the problem of country X paying for support, and country Y gets to freeload.

I think there is a much stronger argument for tech businesses being forced to finance and support FOSS. They are the ones directly benefiting from the free work.

Not a clue how to force that though, would probably need to be via some form of regulation. I can't think of any good way to do it without leaving gaping loopholes for abuse. :(

You'll definitely get lots of login attempts. I used to have a port 22 ssh, hundreds of attempts per day.

Would be interesting to see what post login behavior was.

Sure, but the author makes it sounds like thats its their standard way of doing things, which is insane.

And if you do have a misconfiguration, the rational thing is to fix that, not dump the entire platform.

I posted here a while back when my glass bed failed. One of the suggestions was to replace with Garolite or G10. My sheet finally arrived and i set about cutting it down to size. ... Within 4cm, my basically unused jigsaw blade was worn flat, and by the end of the first cut (20cm), there is basically no more teeth. For the second side, I tried using a multitool cutter, and within a few millimeters it was visibly blunt (plastic and metal tools). Finished it off with a standard wood hand saw, which seemed to go better. So warning to anyone considering garolite, dont use power tools, it will fuck them up.

I have a moderately long HDMI cable running to a screen that has worked for quite a while. Recently the screen lost its connection. I replaced the cable with the exact same model of HDMI cable, and its all good. The cables arent frequently inserted or removed, and they are otherwise in good condition. I have no idea how or why this could happen. Any ideas?

I have this very weird glitch with Gnome, running on Xorg. I can move my mouse off the right hand edge of the screen, and the entire gnome UI starts to scroll over the the left, giving me a glitchy mess on the right hand side of the screen. The screenshot doesn't really do it justice, because it just became transparent instead, but the transparent region where the terminal is should be off screen. Hope I have explained that well, has anyone else hit that? I wonder if its due to multiple monitors, or non-aligned monitors?

As soon as users realise, they are going to just leave. There is no point having a discussion with a bot that cannot respond.

I have been printing with PETG on glass for a little while now, and have gone through almost an entire roll. Yesterday I had my first print stick so hard that it delaminated the glass :(. I stopped using hairspray as it made the prints not stick at all, and printing bare glass was just fine. But something about yesterdays print made the glass give up. Is this how PETG + Glass normally fails? Works perfectly for years, and then suddenly fails?
