Are the buckets made from metal? In that case you can burn out the remaining oil. But that’s something you should only do if you know what you‘re doing obviously. German garbage disposal sites have special oil containers where you can get rid of larger amounts. Is there something similar where you are?

Absolutely! Really enjoy the gimmicky guitar work and raw vocals. Right down my alley.
What are some familiar bands? Obviously I Hate Sex, To Be Gentle and Merchant Ships come to mind. Any other bands?

I‘m Manu (AbyssalChord) from the western portion of Germany and got into Emo music as a teen, roughly two decades ago in the midst of the third wave but soon learned about its origins and different approaches. I picked up the bass guitar at a friends house some day and fell in love with the instrument in a heartbeat and eventually started a band in 2021 called „relationship advice“. We played a couple of gigs by now and just finished producing an EP which is about to release in the Summer.
Although we have a small local scene consisting of a handful of bands, there is room to grow and we do our best to interconnect between cities. It‘s quite tough though because there are just a few venues that support DIY acts and even less who actually give Emo a chance. The german musical landscape is all about connections and you practically have no chance to land a gig anywhere without knowing someone who’s involved in the process it seems. Nonetheless I don’t want to make it seem like it’s a dire situation as everyone I got to know while playing shows were wonderful people with their hearts on their sleeves and that’s a beautiful thing!
Basically title. Now that the Fediverse got some traction going we have the golden opportunity to create a fresh community. So let‘s kick it off with an introduction thread! Where are you from? What got you into Emo music? What‘s your local scene like? Do you play in a band? Let‘s get to know each other!
