Coding on CP/M #1 Unpacking, ZMAC, ZDE

makertube.net

In this episode, I will show unpacking and decompressing files, using the ZDE screen editor as an example. The conclusion is a small 'Hello World!' program.

After editing the video, I actually found the source for the ZMAC I have been using. It comes with its own linker and documentation, but the original is packed in such a way that it would be very annoying to upload to a real CP/M system. So I repacked the files into a single .LBR for your convenience. It unpacks with DELBR, just as shown in the video. Here is the repacked ZMAC17.LBR: [1] https://github.com/Stefanie80/CodingOnCPM/blob/main/Repacked/ZMAC17.LBR [2] Tim Olmstead Memorial Library: http://www.cpm.z80.de/drilib.html [3] Z80 CPU User Manual: https://www.zilog.com/docs/z80/um0080.pdf [4] ZDE Manual: https://web.archive.org/web/20201011200840/http://sites.google.com/site/vdeeditor/Home/vde-files/zde-1-0-manual
