How To Integrate PeerTube Instances

I am trying to subscribe to a channel on a PeerTube instance from kbin. Considering they are both ActivityPub, it would make sense that kbin could integrate with a PeerTube instance. But when I try to "Subscribe With A Remote Account" using my @ given in the profile section, I receive the error "Cannot fetch information of this remote account" Likewise, I get the same result when using just a regular email as theat seemed like what "jane_doe@example.com" was implying.
