Guide: How to transfer Signal messages from old to new Mac

Recently I got a new Macbook and was able to transfer all of my Signal messages from the old one to the new one by copying over the Signal Desktop folder.

You can find the Signal Desktop folder at "/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Signal".

Steps are as follows:

1. Important: Do not unlink Signal on your old device!
2. Setup Signal on the new device and link it with your account
3. Quit new and old instances on both devices
4. Copy over the folder above from old to new (overwrite)
5. Start new instance and ensure it loads properly
6. Important: Do not start old instance again, delete it
