TIL that in 1994 a Russian pilot let his son handle the control on a passenger airplane. The son crashed the plane, and all 75 on board died.

The pilot turned on the autopilot before handing the controls to his son, expecting that it would keep him from doing anything stupid. However, the son accidentally disengaged the autopilot.
