Most people on Lemmy have heard of Ruqqus - The open source, "Free Speech" Reddit alternative. Ruqqus was always right leaning, and there was a small brigade of leftists who withstood it all, preventing it from becoming a complete hive mind. Over 2 years, Ruqqus struggled to find it's place of original content, and while it was getting better, it was a painfully slow process. Until yesterday, when the admins decided to cut the game short:  I've supported Ruqqus in a lot of ways, but that's the end of it from me. Ruqqus' new goal is to become a bit more like Wordpress, where users can set up their own instances. If that sounds like Lemmy, it is with some small differences: * Ruqqus does not have federation * Ruqqus has great UX But for most users, this is the end. I'll be stepping down as the mod of this community, since I have nothing more to add here. All the best!
