Rhythm Games
In a day the update is bringing the 3rd chapter, with 8 songs that you can preview [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEEHg0VcgNU). It's been over a year since the last chapter release, so there's likely a lot of story to see, although I care more about the challenges. There's 3 free songs apart from the chapter that are getting released, along with other more minor changes.
I've just signed-up to the [17th official tournament](https://www.flashflashrevolution.com/ffr/17th-official-tournament-derustathon-sotw-5252024/) of Flash Flash Revolution. Haven't really been able to play much for some months but there's still a month to prepare, so hopefully I can get good enough. If you want to join you'll have to play on FFR for a while if you don't already play another VSRG, but there's a lot of time until sign-ups close. This game is a lot like Bullets Per Minute in the surface, but features like custom songs can elevate it with results like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mca9MR4KR8Q). On [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1456760/ROBOBEAT/) the game already has hundreds of reviews, with an incredible 98% positive rate. It's also been on a discount since release, it goes away within 2 days.
From a new [announcement](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP4yN2zsh5Y), the game is being ported to PS4, PS5 and PSVR2 on July 9th. However, the [Steam page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1058830/Spin_Rhythm_XD/) already says it supports PlayStation controller, so maybe you could get a similar experience now with it. At the same time, they'll release a Chillpop DLC with 10 songs and 2 free songs for the base game.
This game puts rhythm into morse code, all with the theme of the Polish-Soviet war with aesthetics I really like. Youtuber [shaz](https://www.youtube.com/@8shaz8/videos) just innovated the genre of osu! videos with the creation of osu! typing. It consists of typing the vocals of a popular osu! song with its rhythm, as you can see in [the first video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7saGrOAV_c) of this type. With the popularity of this kind of video the channel has fully changed from general typing to just osu! typing, and with very frecuent uploads.
This comes across as a cyberpunk-aesthetic 8k (six lanes + 2 gear) rhythm game with racing elements to it, such as medals for attaining a set amount of EX points (a.k.a. notes hit), as well as utilizing the gyroscope feature to drift across tracks of various difficulties—essential for those using physical controllers. As for the premise and story, it's minimal yet substantial: a futuristic racing competition organized by a cybernetic research enterprise, its top prize being any desired cybernetic enhancement its eventual winner wishes for. As it's released under Early Access, in much the same way as vivid/statis did last year, on Steam, future updates, bugfixes, events, and song additions are to be expected out of this newborn project. This two lane game recently had a closed beta, allowing for some gameplay to be uploaded. For the full experience, [this playthrough](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxBMjYzpZBI&t=320s) has everything on the game. The isn't yet a date for release, but you can wishlist over on [steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2527300/Lily_Fantasia/). Hopefully there's an open beta in the future, but release is likely a long time away as the game has only been shown publicly for a month.
