Floppy music & MIDI madness
Since 2012 i am experimenting with this concept and built several setups over the years. This playlist contains some bad, some better recordings of my setups. In the last years i am not uploading new music covers anymore but instead am touring events like Maker Faires with a live version of the setup and working on a new 64 drive setup to revive the concept again and will post them to this playlist as well. Note: i currently can't post video files as images here ![](https://discuss.tchncs.de/pictrs/image/e83d8e14-18dc-4d33-a6ff-6499c1f7aff2.jpeg) ![](https://discuss.tchncs.de/pictrs/image/4158309c-7a62-451f-845f-06313b41c505.jpeg) ![](https://discuss.tchncs.de/pictrs/image/a7f4fea7-a384-4466-b001-24cd02392166.jpeg)
Want to get into floppymusic? There are several projects for arduinos that allow you to quickly get some music out of floppy drives. This can be a fun weekend project if you got some drives around. **Sammy1am moppy** (with java based pc application): [Moppy 2](https://github.com/Sammy1Am/Moppy2) and [Moppy 1](https://github.com/Sammy1Am/MoppyClassic) **Standalone arduino midi interface:** [Ultrawipf/midifloppy](https://github.com/Ultrawipf/midifloppy) **Floppy drive pinout:** ![](https://discuss.tchncs.de/pictrs/image/9fa70bcc-2ab4-418d-ab4d-f4e46dbfed78.jpeg) Feel free to post and discuss non FDD music projects with the same concept here as well.
Floppy music & MIDI madness
!floppymusic@discuss.tchncs.deMusic with hardware that was not meant to make music.
Usually done with modified floppy drives, hard disks or other devices containing motors modulated for different sounds.
Non floppy drive music involving the same concept is welcome too
